With the little Sweetpeaz we did fingerpainting this week! To introduce the young kids to painting, it is very good to start with fingerpainting so they can feel the paint and its texture - an important sensory activity. They can mix the colors by hand and spread it onto the paper. Some of the kids don't immediately jump into the experience with their hands, so I gave them sticks to start with, so they'll get confident with it. Then, I brought them toy cars so they could zoom them through the paint. Lots of fun!
After this colorful activity, we moved to the water bucket for getting even messier with water and clean up the tools and their painted bodies! Cleaning up is for kids this age so much fun, so here they are encouraged to do this (almost) on their own. It was a creative and messy session!
